Equilibrium [Series]

from A$600.00

The Barossa Valley in late October has a quality of light that is almost architectural.

The sky sits wide and pale above the vineyards. The rows of vines draw lines across gently rising ground. The hills in the distance are the kind of green that exists only in wine regions in spring — not forest green, not paddock green, but something richer and more deliberate.

Equilibrium is a diptych: two photographs made in the Barossa Valley on 21 October 2023, conceived as a pair. Each image works alone — they share a palette and a horizontal stillness — but together they create something more complete: a sustained view of an Australian wine landscape in full, unhurried clarity.

The title holds the key. There is no drama in these images. No weather event, no human activity, no gesture toward narrative. Just the balanced relationship between earth, vine, sky, and the particular Australian light that makes the Barossa feel timeless.

Printed on textured rag paper, the series carries a depth of surface that rewards close attention — details that would disappear in a glossy print become tactile and present here.

The price covers both photographs in the series.

A work for large walls, dining rooms, and spaces where two images can breathe alongside each other.
